Digital Fix Filmcast Vol 2 - Fave Animated Movies

After we struggled out into the light with our inaugural podcast, we return, undeterred, impossibly confident that you may want to hear some more guff from us. Being discussed on the good ship Digital Fix, are our favourite animated films from the likes of John Lasseter, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, and the great Hayao Miyazaki. All you need to do is to click the play button or download above, or subscribe to our feed to keep on top of future pods. Please be aware that there is some swearing in the show and should you be offended by such, you'd be better off elsewhere.

Firstly, Elliot tells us all how Toy Story is part of the greatest of all film trilogies, how Disney thought it was rubbish and how it taught him valid lessons about life, and erm... toys. Here is a clip featuring the marvelous Randy Newman soundtrack:



Then, I explain how one movie warped our tiny little minds on the back of two imps whose careers have endured from shorts about seasonal poo to puppet blockbusters and blasphemous musicals. Matt Stone and Trey Parker created one of the few musicals anyone sensible likes and the most passionate parody of censorship I can name - South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut. And well, perhaps Cartman himself can remind us of his estimation of Kyle's mom:



Finally, Matt saves the day with his learned introduction to one undisputed masterpiece. Hayao Miyazaki's My Neighbour Totoro is our greatest animated feature, an intelligent moving simple film aimed squarely at kids, as they say, of all ages. Our site has covered the film on a few occasions.....
