JJ Abrams Star Trek sequel has a title...
More on Star Trek
The second JJ Abrams Star Trek film has a title - rumours started circulating earlier this week and domain registrations added fuel to the fire that the next outing of the Enterprise crew will be in Star Trek Into Darkness. This has now been confirmed by Trek Movie.
The film, out next year, has been kept tightly under wraps - we know who is in it, but not really who they are. There were thoughts that we'd see a reimagining of The Wrath of Khan, but this isn't likely. Karl Urban recently hinted that the villain could be Gary Mitchell - who featured in the second pilot of the original series.
Star Trek Into Darkness will hit UK cinemas next year and will see Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban and the rest of the original cast joined by Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch taking up the reigns of the main bad guy.
