20th Century Fox Lose Daredevil
The recent rumblings on whether or not certain superheroes would stay with certain studios has reached it’s finale with news from Variety that Daredevil will soon be zipping from 20th Century Fox on over to Marvel Studios, much to the dismay of director Joe Carnahan, who was eager to brave The Man Without Fear.
The original plan that Carnahan himself has described in the professional business term as going ‘t*ts up’ was that 20th Century Fox would get to work on a Daredevil reboot by October 10th, the deadline given before Marvel got their blind guardian of Hell’s Kitchen back in their camp. That really didn’t give much time for Carnahan to work on the project regardless of his enthusiasm to do so and the successful pitch he made to Fox originally to get the reboot.
Preparing the world for the supposedly bad news, Carnahan tweeted yesterday...
"idea for a certain retro, red-suited, Serpico-styled superhero went up in smoke today kids."
Maybe not, Mr. Carnahan. Whilst 20th Century Fox will have to hand over Matt Murdock’s red-suited alter-ego there’s really no reason Marvel head fella, Kevin Fiege could have a look at what The A-Team director has to offer, we can do as well, courtesy of Carnahan’s sizzle reel he originally used to pitch his dream project.
The obvious question to ask now is if Daredevil is in fact moving on over to Marvel could there be a space for him amongst a certain team of superheroes? We can only hope...
