Red band trailer for End Of Watch online
The last time Jake Gyllenhaal was wielding a firearm and a chrome-dome it was Sam Mendes' Jarhead where he went a little mad handling the life of a soldier. Now he's been given a badge and a gun in the upcoming David Ayer film, End Of Watch and we can't help but notice he's not in the best of moods here either, judging by the brand new red-band trailer that has turned up before it's release November, 23.
Carrying some rather NSFW material, the new preview gives us a blistering introduction to police officers Taylor (Gyllenhaal) and Zavala (Michael Peña), two of the LAPD's finest who are forced to deal with everything the streets South Central Los Angeles has to throw at them. Facing down gangs, drug deals and superiors that give the routine warning that these lads are in over their heads Taylor and Zavala soon gain a frightening understanding of how close they and those around them can come between life and death.
Displayed entirely through the cameras belonging to the police and the criminals they are hunting down as well as 'CCTV footage' from the area, it may be an overly used tweak on a viewing experience but it's a break from tradition from Ayer who is trying to show his familiar L.A. canvas in a whole new light. Judge for yourself whether it's done the trick though and be sure to chuck a comment or two in for good measure.
