Lionsgate (R1/US BD) in July

Lionsgate Home Entertainment have announced their US DVD and Blu-ray line-up for July 2010.

Also note we’ve added details on the R1 DVD release of Creation, the Darwin biopic which is a late June release from Lionsgate, to the Lionsgate June 2010 news piece.

6th July 2010

Six Gun - $26.98 – This western includes a making of featurette and deleted scenes. The film is presented in anamorphic widescreen with English DD5.1 audio and English and Spanish subtitles.

Blu-ray catalogue titles – the Rodney Dangerfield comedy Ladybugs and the Barry Levinson written/directed Jimmy Hollywood - are priced at $19.99 SRP each. Barebones, they both feature 1080P Widescreen presentation, English 5.1 DTS-HD MA audio and English and Spanish subtitles.

13th July 2010

Caught in the Crossfire - DVD $26.98 / Blu-ray $29.99 - This good cop/bad cop action film starring Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson comes to both formats with outtakes as the only extra. Expect 5.1 audio (DTS-HD MA on BD) and English and Spanish subtitles (plus English SDH on BD).

Ninja’s Creed - $26.98 – Pat Morita, WWE Diva Gail Kim, Eric Roberts and Lalaine all star in this action film which offers behind-the-scenes interviews, outtakes and deleted scenes on DVD. The film is presented in anamorphic widescreen with English DD5.1 audio and English and Spanish subtitles.

The Professional - $14.98 - Jean-Paul Belmondo stars in this thriller which comes to barebones DVD with French and English Mono audio and English and Spanish subtitles.

Neighbor: Unrated Director’s Cut - $26.98 - Playboy Playmate America Olivo stars in this horror which comes to DVD with two featurettes, behind-the-scenes interviews and outtakes. The film is presented in anamorphic widescreen with English DD5.1 audio and English and Spanish subtitles.

Also this week are four Blu-ray titles timed to the theatrical release of The Expendables…

Rambo: Extended Cut - $19.99 - Available for the first time ever on any format, this extended cut of Stallone’s fourth outing as Rambo features nine extra minutes of footage and nearly 90 minutes of newly created bonus materials in the form of "RAMBO: To Hell and Back" - Sylvester Stallone's video production diary. The film is presented in 1080P Widescreen with 7.1 DTS-HD MA and English, English SDH and Spanish subtitles. There are no other extras.

Johnny Handsome - $19.99 - Mickey Rourke, Morgan Freeman and Forest Whitaker star in this film from Walter Hill which has three brand new featurettes created just for this Blu-ray release. Features include:

  • 1080P Widescreen
  • English 2.0 DTS-HD & French DD2.0
  • English SDH and Spanish
  • "Noir In Nawlins" featurette – an in-depth look at the films evocative cinematography by Matthew Leonetti and how he created a modern film noir on the streets of New Orleans
  • "Double-Crosser" featurette - an all-new interview with actor Lance Henriksen on his memorable role as the treacherous Rafe Garrett
  • "Dark Notes" featurette - an all-new profile of composer Ry Cooder on his brooding score and his long history with director Walter Hill

Lock Up - $19.99 – This action flick starring Sylvester Stallone is presented in 1080P Widescreen with English DD5.1, French DD2.0 and Spanish Mono plus English, French and Spanish subtitles. The only extra is a making of featurette.

Rambo: The Complete Collection - $54.99 SRP – This set brings together First Blood, Rambo – First Blood Part II, Rambo III and Rambo (the original release featuring the theatrical cut and plenty of extras). All four films are 1080P with English and Spanish subtitles. Further details follow:
