From the PR.

Planet Of The Apes is ageless! Filmed in 1974 following the success of the four original films, the TV series takes place after the events of the first film. Starring an eclectic cast including Roddy McDowell from the original films (most recently Mr Soil, A Bugs Life) as Chimpanzee Galen, the unexpected hero.

The series is set on futuristic Earth where Apes are now the superior species. Two astronauts from Earth’s past, Virdon (Ron Harper) and Burke (James Naughton) arrive in the Earth’s future as the inferior race and befriend Galen. Together they live as fugitives from the tyrannical Ape authorities.

As well as unforgettable story lines, the series is known for its advanced make-up and special effects for its time. The series also sets each mystical scene with fantastical orchestral music.

This is an ape-size release with 14 episodes on four discs retailing at £19.99. With 5 films made between 1968 - 2001 starring many high-brow Hollywood actors (Charlton Heston, Linda Harrison, Mark Wahlberg and Helena Bonham Carter) and a massive ‘Ape’ fan base, this is an essential addition to any DVD collection.

DVD brings home classic Fox TV and enables us to enjoy the award winning TV of years ago again and again…
