Network have sent over details on their March release slate which features the usual assortment of classic TV titles...

1st March 2010

Muck and Brass – The Complete Series - Mel Smith (Alas Smith & Jones) stars in a rare straight role as Tom Craig, a shrewdly opportunistic property developer progressing from nowhere to provincial tycoon in this memorable and still highly relevant drama from Central Television.

Travelling Man – The Complete Series – Created and scripted by Roger Marshall - renowned for his contributions to The Avengers, Public Eye and The Sweeney, among many other classic series. Starring Leigh Lawson (Madame Sousatzka, Tess) as the driven, haunted Lomax.

Boy Dominic – The Complete Series - Starring Richard Todd (The Dam Busters) as the ill-fated Captain Charles Bulman; the incomparable Brian Blessed (Z-Cars) as William Woodcock; Julian Glover (Doctor Who) is the treacherous Mr. Jackson; Emma is portrayed by Hildegarde Neil (A Touch of Class), and Dominic himself is played by Murray Dale (son of multi-talented Carry On star Jim Dale).

Look At Life – Volume One: Transport – Marvellously concise and beautifully shot, these ‘slice of life’ colour featurettes – numbering over 500 episodes in total – presented cinemagoers with varied aspects of contemporary British life. This first volume is the definitive collection of 54 transport shorts films, including such classics as Letting off Steam, The Car Has Wings, Cats of the Sea and Europe Grows Together. London’s Burning – Series 13 - The firefighters of Blackwall Station’s Blue Watch are back on duty in the ever-popular, award-winning drama from LWT.

Moody and Pegg – Series 1 - Starring Judy Cornwell (Keeping Up Appearances) as disillusioned civil servant Daphne and Derek Waring (Z-Cars) as the determinedly carefree Roland.

The Nation’s Health – Scripted by the award-winning G.F. Newman – best-known for 1979’s controversial Law and Order as well as more recent successes like Judge John Deed and New Street Law. This acclaimed, hard-hitting four-part series examined the failings of the NHS screened on Channel 4 in 1983 – when the consequences of health service cuts were becoming increasingly apparent, and for-profit culture loomed large.

Emergency – Ward 10 – Volume 3 - Britain’s first medical soap opera. Between 1957 and 1967 it regularly pulled in audiences in excess of 15 million and spawned two spin-off programmes and a feature-film adaptation.

Peak Practice – Series 6 - One of ITV’s most popular shows, with regular viewing figures of around 15 million and frequent appearances in ITV’s Top Ten.

Whoops Apocalypse – The Complete Apocalypse - Andrew Marshall and David Renwick's (Hot Metal, 2point4 Children, One Foot in the Grave) razor-sharp satire, chronicling the events leading up to World War Three. Featuring Barry Morse, John Barron, Richard Griffiths, Peter Jones, Geoffrey Palmer and Alexei Sayle, this 1982 comedy was a cult success for ITV. Four years later it was made into a feature film, which starred Peter Cook, Loretta Swit, Alexei Sayle, Rik Mayall, Richard Wilson and Graeme Garden. This set contains both the complete series and the film.
