36th Chamber of Shaolin & King Boxer (R2) in March

Momentum Pictures have announced the UK Region 2 DVD release of two Shaw Brothers martial arts titles on 23rd March 2009. Released under the Dragon Dynasty banner and priced at £12.99 RRP each are The 36th Chamber of Shaolin and King Boxer.

Dragon Dynasty is a label setup by Bob and Harvey Weinstein specifically to release the very best of Asian cinema – both classic and contemporary – on DVD. The label has been running for some time in the USA and is headed up by former Hong Kong Legends DVD producer Brian White and Hong Kong cinema expert / commentary specialist Bey Logan. It is not yet known if the UK releases under the Dragon Dynasty label will be limited to Shaw Brothers classics (which Momentum hold the rights for some 30 titles) or if they will also cover the more contemporary Asian titles released in the USA.
