South Pacific (US BD) in March

Fox Home Entertainment have announced the US Blu-ray Disc release of South Pacific (50th Anniversary Edition) on 31st March 2009 priced at $34.99 SRP. Adapted from Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Pulitzer Prize-winning musical, South Pacific follows a Navy nurse forced to choose between love and prejudice during World War II.

This 50th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray Disc includes the all-new BD Exclusive feature-length documentary “Passion, Prejudice and South Pacific: Creating An American Masterpiece” plus special bonus features such as Mitzi Gaynor’s screen test, “making of” featurette, vintage stage excerpts from the original Broadway stars, sing-a-long subtitles, and more.

Authored in BD-J with AVC (MPEG4) compression on two dual-layer 50GB discs, the film is presented in 1080P 2.20:1 widescreen with English 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio, English 4.0 Dolby Surround, English Stereo and French and Spanish DD5.1 Surround audio, plus English, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese and Korean subtitles.
