Leo (R2) in October
Universal Pictures have announced the UK Region 2 DVD release of Leo on 27th October 2008. From British director Mehdi Norowzian, Leo stars Joseph Fiennes, Dennis Hopper, Elizabeth Shue and Sam Shepherd in the tale of two parallel lives which takes characters from James Joyce’s Ulysses and places them in the southern American states.
There are no announced extras. The film is presented in anamorphic widescreen with English DD5.1 Surround audio.
Synopsis: Having served 15 years for murder, the reserved and distant Stephen (Fiennes) is released and begins working at a local diner, revealing little about his past to owner Vic (Shepperd) or local redneck (Hopper). Meanwhile, the painfully shy Leo is growing up in a loveless and dysfunctional environment with his depressed and fiery mother, Elizabeth (Shue), who has never recovered from the tragic loss of her husband and daughter in a horrific road accident days before Leo’s birth. The link between these two characters is revealed thorough the dual narrative.
