The Polar Express Presented in 3-D (US BD) in October

Warner Home Video have announced the US Blu-ray Disc release of The Polar Express Presented in 3-D on 28th October 2008 priced at $34.99 SRP. One of Warner’s annual holiday DVD releases (and now Blu-ray releases) is The Polar Express, a computer animated film based on the beloved Caldecott Medal children’s book by Chris Van Allsburg about a doubting young boy who takes an extraordinary train ride to the North Pole on Christmas Eve.

This year Warner are releasing the film on Blu-ray presented in 3-D, with each copy packaged with four sets of 3-D glasses. The original theatrical 2-D version will also be included complete with the extras from that release:

  • You Look Familiar: The many Polar faces of Tom Hanks
  • A Genuine ticket to Ride: 5 featurettes
  • True Inspirations: Profiling author Chris Van Allsburg
  • Believe: Josh Groban performance and behind the scenes
  • Flurry of Effects: 5 motion-capture sessions
  • Snow Angels: Moviemakers’ Christmas memories
  • Theatrical trailer
