Doctor Who: The War Machines in August
2Entertain have announced that the release of Colin Baker epic The Trial of a Time Lord, originally scheduled for this month, has been pushed back and will now be released on 29th September 2008. To fill the gap they have moved forward what was originally going to be the October release, the William Hartnell-starring The War Machines.
In the four part adventure, originally screened in 1966 as part of the show's third season, the First Doctor and companion Dodo (Jackie Lane) travel to Swinging Sixties London, where they do battle with supercomputer WOTAN and his army of robots. Containing the immortal line "Doctor Who is required!" it also saw the introduction of new companions Ben and Polly (Michael Craze and Anneke Wills) and marked the end of Hartnell's last full year in charge of the Tardis.
No official word on extras yet, but online retailers are reporting the following will be included:
Commentary with Anneke Wills and Director Michael Ferguson.
