Jerome Bixby's Man From Earth in July

On 7th July Anchor Bay is proudly releasing the DVD premiere of the award winning Jerome Bixby’s Man From Earth which is based on the screenplay by the legendary sci-fi writer Jerome Bixby. Originally a short story writer, Bixby became famous for his screenplays for some of the greatest science fiction films and TV programmes ever made ranging from "The Twilight Zone" and "Fantastic Voyage" to some of the most popular episodes of "Star Trek". He even had an episode of "Star Trek – Deep Space 9" dedicated to his memory.

Starring a host of familiar faces including John Billingsley ("Star Trek: Enterprise"), Ellen Crawford ("ER"), and Tony Todd ("Candyman"), Man From Earth explores the possibility that man could be immortal. When college Professor John Oldman (David Lee Smith, "CSI Miami") throws an impromptu farewell party for some of his most trusted colleagues, they are amazed by his startling confession. Claiming that he’s been around since the Stone Age and that he has to move on every ten years to avoid suspicion as he never ages, he sparks a debate as to whether he is in fact mad or, as he seems so convincing, could it possibly be true? In trying to unravel the final truth about the man they thought they knew so well, the group are forced to question their own beliefs and very existence.

Meanwhile, the spirit of Jerome Bixby lives on, not only in Man From Earth, but the big budget Hollywood remake of "Fantastic Voyage" which is currently in production.
