Walt Disney Treasures - Wave 3 in May


Walt Disney Home Entertainment have announced the Region 1 DVD release of Walt Disney Treasures Wave 3 for 18th May 2004. Delayed from their original December 2003 release date this third wave features four new, separate limited-series DVD sets that collect more of Walt’s greatest wonders - uncut, uncensored, and never assembled or released on DVD. Each superb volume is fully restored, hosted by noted film historian Leonard Maltin and presented in pristine colour and sound.

In Walt Disney On The Front Lines the Disney Studio’s rare and historic World War II-themed productions, including recently declassified military training films and the feature-length film Victory Through Air Power, are collected together for the first time. Mickey Mouse In Living Color (Volume Two) covers Mickey’s great short films from 1939 to 1995. The Chronological Donald presents a first-ever compilation of Donald Duck’s shorts from 1936 to 1941. Walt Disney’s Tomorrowland presents Walt’s historic TV shows on outer space and space travel.

Each of these amazing, 2 disc DVD volumes comes in a collectible tin, with an exclusive lithograph and individually numbered authenticity certificate included. These outstanding sets are chock-full of supplemental features such as rare or unseen archival material, story sketch sequences, still-frame production art galleries, historical publicity and memorabilia galleries, artist interviews and more. Available for a limited time only on Disney DVD from Walt Disney Home Entertainment on May 18, 2004, each of these four new DVD volumes is priced to own at $32.99 (S.R.P.).

Walt Disney On The Front Lines - For the first time ever, Disney’s historic war effort productions are available on DVD. This stunning collection features 32 short subjects very rarely seen for over 50 years, as well as the full-length feature film Victory Through Air Power (the 60th Anniversary of its Theatrical release), never before released on DVD. This must-own collection includes recently declassified material and rare training, propaganda and educational films created during the period beginning December 8, 1941 when the Disney Studios were dedicated to the patriotic cause of winning World War II.
