Starz Horror in July

Starz Home Entertainment have announced the UK DVD release of three straight-to-video horror titles in July. First up on 2nd July 2007 are Kaw and Dead and Deader, followed on 16th July 2007 by The Thirst. Details follow…

Kaw (£16.99 RRP) - A contemporary update of Alfred Hitchcock's 'The Birds', Kaw stars Sean Patrick Flanery (Masters Of Horror; The Dead Zone) and Rod Taylor (The Birds) as a small town sheriff and doctor, respectively, who team up in a deadly battle for survival when their local community comes under siege from a conspiracy (or should that be an 'unkindness'?) of killer ravens.

Dead and Deader (£16.99 RRP) - Dean Cain is Lt. Bobby Quinn, a Special Forces commando killed during a recon mission in the Cambodian jungle. But when Quinn interrupts his own stateside autopsy, he discovers that the rest of his dead squad has been resurrected with a ravenous appetite for human flesh. Now with the help of a wisecracking cook (Guy Torry of American History X) and a sexy film geek (Susan Ward of Wild Things 2), the part-zombie Quinn must stop the plague before it can infect the entire nation. Who holds the shocking secret behind this blood-crazed carnage? And what happens when Quinn stops gnawing on raw steak and starts chomping on the hot chick?

Special Features:

  • Audio Commentary with Writer Steve Kriozere and Producer Mark A. Altman
  • Raising the Dead: The Making of Dead & Deader
  • Photo Gallery
  • DVD-ROM Script

The Thirst (£15.99 RRP) - Fans of 'Buffy The Vampire Slayer' will be delighted to see actress Clare Kramer (Buffy The Vampire Slayer; The Rules Of Attraction; Bring It On) making a welcome return to the vampire genre in The Thirst, in which she stars as one of a pair of recovering drug addicts recruited by a clan of sex and gore crazed vampires. The Thirst also stars Jeremy Sisto (Kidnapped; Six Feet Under), Serena Scott Thomas (Hostage) and Erik Palladino (E.R.).
