HKL in May/June

Hong Kong Legends have announced the UK Region 2 DVD release of four early Jackie Chan titles. Priced at £16.99 each, these Ultrabit Editions are due in stores on four separate dates in May and June…

Snake and Crane Arts of Shaolin - 14th May 2007 - Jackie proves that a little knowledge is a dangerous thing as he delves into his 'The Eight Steps of the Snake and Crane' book; originally written by eight fight legends. The problem is that other martial artists want it for the secrets it contains but Jackie quickly proves to be a reluctant lending library! He's soon defending himself and the book against waves of fighters but little does he realize that he's being used as a pawn in a master plan crafted by the last surviving author of the book…

The film is presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen with Mandarin and English DD5.1 Surround, Mandarin Mono and optional English subtitles.

New Fist of Fury - 21st May 2007 - In this follow-up to the screen sensation that was Fist of Fury (also directed by Lo Wei) we see a young Jackie take up the fight against another Japanese martial arts school hell bent on crushing rival Chinese academies in Taiwan. Only problem is at the outset he's no match against multiple fighters so that means we get the bonus of watching him endure gruelling training before he heads out to dispense justice!

The film is presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen with Mandarin and English DD5.1 Surround, Mandarin Mono and optional English subtitles. Extras include an Alternate Beginning that runs 8:24mins and is presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen with English 2.0 audio.

Dragon Fist - 11th June 2007 - This time Jackie explores his darker side as his mission to avenge the death of the Master who adopted him means he must infiltrate those he seeks to destroy. Teaming up with Nora Miao (Way of the Dragon) Jackie is forced to blur the lines between justice and vengeance in his quest for spiritual redemption.

The film is presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen with Cantonese and English DD5.1 Surround, Cantonese Stereo and optional English subtitles.

Spiritual Kung Fu - 18th June 2007 - This time we join Jackie with his head in a book and some helpful ghostly kung fu teachers! Believe it or not that spells action scenes aplenty as Jackie reads up on the skills he needs to combat the '7 Fists' kung fu style detailed in a manual which has been stolen from his temple. In the wrong hands this knowledge could spell disaster so it's up to Jackie, armed with his own '5 Fists' tome (handily rediscovered thanks to a crashing meteor!) to track down the traitor and counter the deadly fight moves that the book has endowed upon the thief.

The film is presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen with Cantonese and English DD5.1 Surround and optional English subtitles. Extras include a short restoration before and after comparison (2mins) and the original theatrical trailer.
