Doctor Who: Time-Flight and Arc of Infinity in August

The August release in 2 Entertain's Classic Doctor Who range has now been confirmed as a mini-boxset featuring two stories, Time-Flight and Arc of Infinity. The last story of Season Nineteen and the first of Season Twenty, the Peter Davison-starring four parters were first broadcast in 1982 and 1983.

Time-Flight sees the Doctor and his companions Tegan (Janet Fielding) and Nyssa (Sarah Sutton) arriving at modern-day Heathrow and investigating the mysterious disappearance of a Concorde mid-flight. Ending up millions of years in the past, the Doctor learns that the Master (Anthony Ainley) is up to his old tricks once again with a complicated scheme that involves the Plasmatons, an alien gestalt with a split personality and a less-than-convincing crash in prehistoric Earth.

  • Unsurprisingly, at the end of Time-Flight the Doctor takes the opportunity to abandon the abrasive Tegan at Heathrow and goes off with the far more gentle Nyssa. The following story Arc of Infinity sees the travellers reunited with their erstwhile companion in Amsterdam when the Doctor ends up there during a conflict that involves not one but two familiar faces - his old adversary Omega (Ian Collier) and an awkward fellow called Commander Maxil...
