Ghost Rider (BD) in June - Artwork added

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment have announced the US Region A Blu-ray Disc release of Ghost Rider for 12th June 2007 priced at $38.96 SRP. A box-office hit just under two months ago Ghost Rider makes its way to Blu-ray Disc this summer day-and-date in the film’s Extended Cut form with 15 minutes of never-before-seen footage.

The Extended Cut of Ghost Rider features additional scenes that include more back-story between Johnny Blaze (Nicolas Cage) and his father, additional scenes between Johnny and evil incarnate Mephistopheles (Peter Fonda) and an intense confrontation between the Caretaker (Sam Elliot) and Blackheart (Wes Bentley).

Features include:

  • 1080P 2.40:1 Widescreen
  • English PCM 5.1 Surround
  • English Dolby True HD 5.1 Surround
  • French DD5.1 Surround
  • English, English SDH, Chinese, French, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish and Thai subtitles
  • Extended version of the film with never-before-seen footage
  • “Spirit of Vengeance: The Making of Ghost Rider” documentary
  • Film commentary with director/writer Mark Steven Johnson and VFX Supervisor Kevin Mack
  • Film commentary with producer Gary Foster

Features not carried over from the Two-Disc Extended Cut DVD release are “Animatics” and “Sin & Salvation: Featurette on the Comic Book Origins of Ghost Rider”.
