Controversial documentary "John's Not Mad" arrives on DVD in February
Fabulous Films/Fremantle Home Entertainment have announced the UK Region 2 DVD release of John's Not Mad for 9th February 2004 with a retail price of £14.99. This has been one of the most talked about TV documentaries of the last 15 years and has never been re-broadcast since its original transmission back in 1989. Now for the first time on DVD and Video, you can see why this film made such an impact on the nation and brought the relatively unknown condition of Tourette Syndrome into the public domain.
Filmed as a QED documentary by the BBC, 'John's Not Mad' follows John Davidson, a 15 year old schoolboy from Galashiels who suffers from the most severe form of this complex neurological disorder. This fascinating and inspiring film explores the way in which John, his family and the local community deal with his extreme condition.
This DVD also contains footage from the 2002 follow up BBC documentary 'The Boy Can't Help It' featuring John, now aged 31, as he talks about how much impact the original documentary has had on his life.
John's charity, Tourette Scotland, will be receiving a donation from every copy sold to continue helping and advising families of Tourette sufferers.
