Dead Silence from creators of Saw
In October 2004, writer-director James Wan and co-writer Leigh Whannell burst onto the scene with the gruesome thriller Saw, a rare case (especially these days) of a low budget film with no major stars becoming a big box office success. Having been involved with the sequels in a writing and producing capacity, Wan and Whannell's second collaboration as writers and director is another thriller with horror movie trappings - Dead Silence.
TV star Ryan Kwanten (from Aussie soap Home And Away!) plays the husband of a murdered wife, a man some in his town believe to be the killer. He however suspects her death has something to do with the ventriloquist's dummy she received as a gift shortly before she was killed and that supernatural forces may have been involved.
Amber Valletta and Donnie Wahlberg also star. Dead Silence will be released early in 2007.
