Les Valseuses & I Am Curious Yellow/Blue in September

Second Sight have announced the UK DVD release of two of European cinema's premiere titles: Les Valseuses and I Am Curious Yellow/Blue for 4th September 2006 priced at £19.99 each.

Les Valseuses is the film that first brought Gerard Depardieu (Cyrano De Bergerac) to the world’s attention, and also marked first time writer/director Bertrand Blier as a major new talent. Stuffed with a typically French robust and rustic sense of humour, the film details the plight of two aimless drifters (Depardieu and Patrick Dewaere) who spend their days wandering the French countryside in search of women and an outlet for their petty criminal tendencies.

Victor Sjoman’s groundbreaking and highly controversial mix of fact and fiction I Am Curious Yellow is released on a double-feature DVD here in the UK along with his follow up I Am Curious Blue. Seized by U.S. customs and subsequently the subject of a heated court debate, I Am Curious Yellow is a cinematic landmark that caused a sensation for its explicit sexual content. Its subsequent infamy saw it become the highest grossing foreign film in the U.S. for 25 years.
