Three Extremes II in September
Tartan Video have announced the UK DVD release of Three Extremes: II for 25th September 2006 priced at £19.99. Using the same confusing title system as Lionsgate did in America this is actually the first trilogy of films to be made under the Three project banner.
From Korea comes ‘Memories’, an eerie tale menace by A Tale of Two Sisters director, Kim Jee-Woon. After the disappearance of his wife, a man suffers memory loss. Elsewhere, an amnesiac woman awakes on a pavement desperately trying to regain her memories. Producer of The Eye 2 Nonzee Nimibutr’s ‘The Wheel’ is a Thai tale of terror about an enchanted troupe of puppets with a disturbing ability to kill. The final contribution comes from Hong Kong with Peter Chan’s ghostly ‘Going Home’. A cop and his son move into a new apartment, which is nearly deserted because its marked for demolition. The remaining residents make for fearful neighbours. With cinematography by the masterful Chris Doyle (In The Mood For Love, Dumplings), it adds the perfect icing on a chill-filled cake. A triptych of terror to keep you awake at night.
Presented in Anamorphic Widescreen with DD5.1 & DTS 5.1 Surround audio, extras include a ‘making of’ documentary and the original trailer.
