Black Sun: Nanking Massacre in September
Tartan Video have announced the UK DVD release of Black Sun: Nanking Massacre on their Grindhouse label for 25th September 2006 priced at £15.99. Using documentary footage BLACK SUN is the re-telling of the events that surrounded the 1937 massacre at the Chinese city of Nanking by the Japanese, where some 300.000 people were brutally slaughtered, showing that the Nazis were not the only army capable of acts of barbarism. In what is truly a harrowing piece of film making director Tun Fei Mou skilfully dramatises certain events, grafting on actual footage and period photographs creating a truly unforgettable documentation of man’s inhumanity to man.
A barebones release the films is presented in Anamorphic Widescreen with Japanese Stereo sound and English subtitles.
