2 more from Second Run DVD in May

Following on from their April releases of The Red and the White and The Cremator Second Run DVD have announced their next two titles, due in May. Arriving on the 1st and priced at £12.99 each are…

Blissfully Yours (Sud sanaeha) - A film by Apichatpong Weerasethakul
Thailand, 2002

Innovative and enigmatic, Blissfully Yours is a languid celebration of the pleasures of the moment. In Apichatpong's heady, sensual and playful film, a leisurely road trip and a picnic in the jungle give way to uninhibited emotion and eroticism. A meditation on happiness, superstition, politics, sexuality and the uncertainty of Thai-Burmese border crossings, nothing really happens except that it happens with a purpose. Blissfully Yours confirms the reputation of one of the most distinctive new filmmakers in world cinema.

The DVD also includes a filmed introduction by Apichatpong and the booklet a new essay on the film by Tony Rayns.

Every Little Thing (La Moindre des choses)

- A film by Nicolas Philibert
France, 1997

Following our acclaimed release of In the Land of the Deaf, we are delighted to be able to present a second film from Nicolas Philibert, one of the world's most respected documentary filmmakers.

The protagonists in this film are the patients and staff at the La Borde psychiatric clinic in France. Each summer they perform a play on a stage set in the beautiful grounds of the chateau. The film charts the passage of this magical event; Philibert delicately celebrates the work of La Borde and quietly makes us question the distinctions that society applies to the sane or insane.

The DVD also contains an introduction to the film by Geoff Andrew.
