Shuttle unveil two entertainment focussed PCs

Shuttle have announced two Windows-based PC systems targetted at the growing Home Cinema PC market. The Shuttle Mini XPC100 is a only slightly deeper and wider than a DVD and features everything you need to play back videos, DVDs and music as well as play all but the most demanding PC games through your home entertainment centre, while the Shuttle XPC M2000 is larger and targetted at those requiring all of the above with the addition of twin TV tuners (analogue, digital or both) to support PVR functionality and more room for expansion.

Shuttle Mini XPC100

The Mini XPC100 features:

  • Intel Core Duo T1400 1.83GHz processor
  • 512MB DDR2 RAM
  • Slim-slot DVD-ROM
  • 4-in-1 Card Reader
  • ATI Radeon X1600 graphics card with DVI and S-Video support
  • Multi-Channel Audio
  • 250GB Serial ATA Hard Drive
  • Integrated Gigabit LAN and 801.11g Wireless
  • Windows XP (Media Centre Edition optional)
  • Front and rear USB and Firewire inputs

    Shuttle XPC M2000

    The XPC M2000 features:

  • Intel Core Duo T1400 1.83GHz processor
  • 1GB DDR533 RAM
  • 4X Dual Layer DVD Writer
  • 8-in-1 Card Reader
  • nVIDIA GeForce 6600LE, PCI-Express X16 with 256MB DDR memory supporting D-Sub VGA (analog), DVI-I (digital), TV (S-Video/Composite)
    and Component Video output
  • 8-channel digital audio output
  • Integrated Gigabit LAN and 801.11g wireless
  • Serial ATA2 Hard Drive
  • USB2 Hard Drive enclosure to quickly add an easily removeable second Hard Drive
  • Windows Media Centre Edition 2005
  • Integrated LED Display with Windows MCE support
  • Wireless keyboard and remote control
  • Front and rear USB and Firewire inputs

    Specifications are not fixed although any changes are expected to be minor while pricing and release dates have not yet been set.
