Fellini from Infinity Arthouse in March - Menus added

Infinity Arthouse have announced the UK DVD release of two films from Italian director Federico Fellini. And the Ship Sails On and Ginger and Fred are two greats from one of cinema’s most creative and influential forces who directed such groundbreaking films as La Dolce Vita and Amarcord. They are available for the first time on DVD courtesy of Infinity Arthouse on 13 March 2006 priced at £19.99 each.

Ginger and Fred is Fellini’s award winning take on the world of small time show business. It skewers the medium Fellini loved to hate with a behind-the-scenes view of a variety show broadcast. Two former dancers from the 1940s, Ginger (Giulietta Masina) and Fred (Marcello Mastroianni – La Dolce Vita), who imitated the dance routines of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, reunite after retiring for over 20 years.

Fetaures on this two-disc set include:

  • 1.33:1 Full Frame
  • Italian DD2.0
  • Optional English subtitles
  • La Felliniana: Final Show (29:50mins)
  • La Felliniana: Silence (32:41mins)
  • Marcello Mastrioianni: A Self Portrait (91:55mins)

Fellini’s And The Ship Sails On is a quirky imaginative fable, following a 1914 ocean voyage to scatter the ashes of a world famous opera singer (Janet Suzman). The ship’s passengers include aristocrats, diplomats and a band of opera singers. These egocentric passengers indulge their follies and fancies both vocally and romantically, but their gilded world is about to receive a chill blast of reality.

Fetaures on this two-disc set include:
  • 1.85:1 Non-Anamorphic Widescren
  • Italian DD2.0
  • Optional English subtitles
  • La Felliniana: A Star Is Born (30:29mins)
  • La Felliniana: A Genius at Work (38:34mins)
  • Federico Fellini: A Self Portrait (55:11mins)
