The Ghost Train in February
Network have announced the UK DVD release of The Ghost Train for 13th February 2006 priced at £9.99. Don’t miss Arthur Askey and Richard Murdoch in a spooky, classic comedy that will drive you off the rails with laughter as well as fear!
A mismatched group of people including Tommy Gander (Arthur Askey – I Thank You, Back-Room Boy), a concert comedian and Teddy Deakin, his pal (Richard Murdoch - Rumpole’s Return, I Thank You) are travelling on a train to Cornwall and miss their connections owing to a delay. Subsequently they have to spend a night in the waiting room of the eerie Cornish railway junction for Fal Vale. The station master tells them the story of the Ghost Train which is reputed to haunt the station. Legend has it that forty-three years ago a previous station master fell dead whilst trying to operate the remote control of a swing bridge and a train roared through the gap in the open bridge into the river below. Some nights a warning bell sounds at the station and the train in phantom form thunders by, bringing death to all who set eyes on the apparition. That night the station master is found murdered. And all sorts of eerie things start to unfold in this unmissable film from British movie svengali Val Guest, the director of The Quatermass Experiment and The Day the Earth Caught Fire.
