Buena Vista Home Entertainment have announced a selection of Region 1 catalogue titles for April/May 2006, including several direct-to-video releases and the R1 DVD debut of Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s Delicatessen…

Delicatessen - $29.99 SRP - In his feature film debut, director Jean-Pierre Jeunet (“Amelie”) creates an off beat, wickedly fun movie that defies classification. Set in a post-apocalyptic society where meat is rare, butcher and run down apartment building owner Clapet (Jean-Claude Dreyfus), creates cannibalistic meals for his eccentric tenants. When a young clown, Louison (Dominique Pinon) moves into the apartment building, he quickly falls in love with the butcher’s daughter, Julie (Marie-Laure Dougnac). When Julie discovers that Louison is to be next on her father’s menu, she must decide if she will remain loyal to her father, or expose the truth in order to save her young Clown.
