Romero to make fifth 'Dead' instalment

Land of the Dead may not have attracted the same levels of critical praise that the earlier three instalments garnered, but it was nonetheless an enjoyable and welcomed picture from the man who pioneered zombie horror in the late '60s. It has now been confirmed that George A. Romero is working on a fifth picture that will act as a direct sequel to number four, charting the surviving characters' journey north.

Romero is aiming to start shooting the currently-unnamed instalment next year for a release in the very near future; all other details are currently unannounced. It would also seem that his other projects, From A Buick 8 and The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, will have to wait a little longer before they see the cold, bloody light of day.
