From the PR:

A truly original take on the gangster movie, Dirty Deeds is a hilarious action comedy set in 1960's Sydney amid the world of organised crime. With an international star cast headed by John Goodman, Bryan Brown, Sam Neill and Toni Collette, Dirty Deeds has just what you need for a good night's home entertainment.

Dirty Deeds takes us on a journey to Sydney circa 1969 where crime is cool, cops are crooked and 20 bucks buys you a whole night out. Life is good for local crime boss Barry Ryan (Brown). He runs the girls, the clubs and the illegal casinos and not even crooked Detective Ray (Neill) dares to stand in his way.

However, his empire is threatened when the Mafia dispatch two Chicago hoods, Tony (Goodman) and his hot-headed sidekick. They plan to cut into the cash mainline that runs through Sydney's underworld but Barry isn't going to be that easy to squeeze. Using wily ingenuity and good old-fashioned violence, he sets in motion a plan to heist the invading American's and keep his precious turf to himself. Barry decides to give the Yanks a lesson in outback hospitality.
