Tartan's Continental Christmas - Menus added

Tartan Video have announced the UK DVD release of The Intruder and The Tit And The Moon for 5th December 2005 priced at £19.99 each. Tartan Video are taking you travelling for a Continental Christmas across France and Spain in the company of Claire Denis and Bigas Luna. A double treat for the visual tastebuds of all cinema connoisseurs.

Louis lives alone in the mountains on the French-Swiss border. He remains emotionally and geographically distant to his wife and son, retaining human contact only with a shopkeeper and dog breeder. A heart condition forces to undertake an operation on the black market, and once he has recovered, the former sailor undertakes a journey from Korea to Tahiti in search of the lost son he fathered years before.

The Intruder continues to demonstrate the visual poetry of Claire Denis’s work which has included Beau Travail, Trouble Every Day, and Vendredi Soir. It’s a beguiling, dreamlike study of memory and alienation which reunites her with actors such as Beatrice Dalle (Trouble Every Day) and Michel Subor (Beau Travail). Told with minimal dialogue and multi-layered visual language, it's proof that Denis is one of the few directors who works with pure cinema.

Presented in Anamorphic Widescreen with Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo, DD5.1 & DTS 5.1 Surround Sound DVD extras include a Tartan exclusive interview with Claire Denis (36mins) and trailer.

THE TIT AND THE MOON (La Teta y La Luna)
Nine-year old Tete is jealous of his baby brother, who now complete access to his mother’s nipples. He prays to the moon for his own breast and that arrives in the form of Estrellita, an exotic French dancer. But even then, he’s has to compete with her lustful admirers too.

Barcelona-born Bigas Luna has developed a reputation as a Spanish director with a touch of sauce. His collaboration with Javier Bardem produced the erotically charged Ages of Lulu. the sensually outrageous Jamon Jamon, which also featured a young sultry Penelope Cruz, and the macho comedy Golden Balls. The Tit and the Moon continues similar themes and weaves them into a more surreal fairytale about sexual desire and its dream sequence is still as potent as ever.

Presented in Anamorphic Widescreen with Dolby Digital 2.0 audio bonus features include a 5min director interview and the original trailer.
