Café Lumière in September - Artwork added

ICA Projects have announced the UK Region 2 DVD release of Café Lumière for 19th September 2005 priced at £19.99. Directed by Hou Hsiao-Hsien (Millennium Mambo and Flowers of Shanghai) Café Lumière was made as a centenary trbute to one of the giants of cinema, Japanese auteur Yasujiro Ozu. The film echoes many of Ozu's recurring themes - the breakdown of communication between parents and children and the rhythmic patterning of everyday life.

The film is presented on a barebones disc in 1.85:1 Non-Anamorphic Widescreen*, Japanese with English subtitles (burned in).

*Originally listed as 2.35:1 Anamorphic Widescreen the check discs from ICA were mastered in the wrong aspect ratio, something DVDTimes brought to their attention and has now been rectified.
