ADV Films in July

ADV Films have sent through details on their UK Region 2 line-up for July 2005. They have six new titles on the cards including the premiere volumes of Mezzo - a hot new "girls with guns" series created by Yasuomi Umetsu (Kite, Gravion) - and Aquarian Age - a new must-see fantasy anime series produced by Madhouse Studios (Sakura Wars, Chobits, X). Also available are the latest volumes in 3 continuing series and the complete series of Sakura Diaries - a steamy tale of college romance from famed manga creator Ujin.

Arriving on 18th July 2005 priced at £19.99 each are...

Mezzo: Shell One - Meet the Danger Service Agency (DSA), a high-risk trio that pays the bills by putting their arses on the line. It's only Volume 1, but the DSA hasn't wasted any time! Ducking bullets, and dodging punches, the trio find themselves working for a friendly ghost and a foxy weathergirl - helping old friends and hunting down an extraterrestrial. Whether you're looking to run recon on a cheating spouse or smuggle a deadly virus, if the job reeks of danger, there's only one team to call. With Mikura and friends on the case, danger has never looked so good.

Aquarian Age: Awakening - The first volume in this compelling new 3-disc series, Aquarian Age was adapted from a popular Japanese trading card game and the original story was undertaken by Broccoli (Di Gi Charat). This must-see fantasy anime was produced by Madhouse Studios (Sakura Wars, Chobits, X) and presented by Victor Entertainment, Inc., (Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2040, RahXephon: The Movie). The awe-inspiring music was composed by Yuki Kajiura (.hack//SIGN, Noir)

The Story:
Kyota and his pals Shingo and Junichi dream of becoming pop idols. At a New Year's show they get their lucky break when a Cosmopop agent discovers the trio and offers to manage their debut. Then things take a turn for the weird when Kyota begins having visions of magical girls battling one another in the air - only he's not dreaming! For centuries, five supernatural factions have waged war for supremacy over mankind with legend prophesizing that one day the Aquarian Age will begin and one group will reign supreme. Now Kyota's dreams must take a backseat to his destiny as he may hold the power to turn the tides of war in favor of whichever faction can control him.

The DVD includes five complete episodes in both English 5.1 and Japanese 2.0 language versions, with English subtitles. Extras include: reversible cover, 8-page production booklet, clean opening and closing animation, production sketches, original Japanese trailer, Behind the Anime video and ADV previews.

Sakura Diaries Collection - £24.99 RRP - A steamy tale of college romance from famed manga creator Ujin, Sakura Diaries feels like an anime sexy soap, a college-age tale just right for fans of The O.C. and Hollyoaks. The two-disc collection with UK exclusive artwork contains the complete 12 episode series in English 2.0 only. Extras include: clean opening and closing animation; bonus unused closing theme; and ADV Previews.
