End of the Century: The Story of the Ramones in April

Tartan Video have announced the UK DVD release of End of the Century: The Story of the Ramones for 25th April 2005 priced at £15.99. New York. 1974. Radios explode to the raw rock sound of The Ramones. Rising from Queens and seedy bars, their raucously energetic sound powered its way across the airwaves and spread across the waters, speaking to a generation of the disenfranchised. Never chart toppers, but an inspiration to Britain’s own new wave bands such as The Clash. Incredibly, they were touring for 22 years and living that life of sex and drugs and rock and roll. This gripping rockumentary traces their history from the early days, through star-crossed careers and the sad fates of Joey and DeeDee. Interviews with the band and colleagues are interspersed with concert footage and behind-the-scenes revelations. Michael Gramaglia & Jim Field have created a hugely entertaining tribute to what Jo Strummer calls ‘the daddy punk group of all time’.

Features include:

  • Anamorphic Widescreen Presentation
  • DD5.1 & DTS 5.1 Surround
  • Exclusive Tartan commentary by broadcaster Danny Baker and rock journalist Charles Shaar Murray
  • Extra interviews with the Ramones, Debbie Harry. Joe Strummer
