Comic Aid Live & Uncut in March
Universal Pictures Video have announced the UK DVD release of Comic Aid Live & Uncut on 4th March 2005 priced at £15.99. From the Friday 4th March 2005 you will be able to own the comedy event of the year and help raise money for the Asian Tsunami disaster by buying a copy of “Comic Aid Live and Uncut” on DVD, with all profits donated to the Disasters Emergency Committee.
Shot live at the one off Comic Aid benefit gig at London’s Carling Apollo – which sold out in just three and a half minutes of tickets being put on sale – the DVD will feature the entire uncut show for all those unfortunate enough to have missed out on tickets.
The 3 hour show sees Jonathan Ross, Jack Dee, Graham Norton, Julian Clary, and Lily Savage host a stellar comic line-up that includes; Lee Evans, Dawn French, Jimmy Carr, Ardal O’Hanlon, Johnny Vegas, Bill Bailey, Bo’ Selecta! star The Bear, Jo Brand, Jon Culshaw, Omid Djalili, Otis Lee Crenshaw, Eddie Izzard, The League Of Gentlemen with Miranda Richardson, Alistair McGowan, Dylan Moran, Dave Spikey, Simon Pegg & Jessica Stevenson. Psychological illusionist Derren Brown and international percussion sensation Stomp also present their own unique blend of stage entertainment.
Jack Dee said: "We are hoping to raise enough money to prevent Sting having to write a song about it....PLEASE, PLEASE HELP!"
BBC1 are confirmed to broadcast the first half hour of the show 9.15pm - 10.15pm on Saturday 26th February, followed by the second half of the show on BBC 2 10.15pm - 11.15pm. BBC Radio 2 will also broadcast ‘Comic Aid with Mark Radcliffe’ featuring behind the scenes interviews and stand up from the show 10pm - Midnight on Thursday 24th February.
The ‘Comedy Mafia’ are Addison Cresswell, Andrew Beint, Phil McIntyre, Don Ward, Jon Plowman, Joe Norris, Alex Hardcastle, Jonathan Beazley & Ian Coburn.
