Paramount's UK October line-up

Paramount Home Entertainment have revealed the rest of their UK Region 2 October 2003 DVD line-up. Joining the previously announced Once Upon A Time In The West are the following titles...

6th October 2003:

How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days - Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey star in the romantic comedy of the year! Andie Anderson, a journalist for Composure magazine is researching an article on how to lose a guy, Ben is trying to win a bet that he can make any girl fall in love with him. They meet and become each other’s unsuspecting victims. Will Ben be able to stand Andie’s obsessive, girly behaviour just long enough to win his bet – or will the baby photos, continuous ‘I love yous’ and phone calls drive him crazy!

Losing Isaiah - Starring three Oscar winners and an Oscar nominated actor, LOSING ISAIAH is the story of an African-American baby abandoned by his crack addicted mother. Several years later, the baby’s mother learns that her child is not dead as she assumed, but was saved by a white social worker who took care of the child and eventually adopted him. Now clean and making a life for herself, the biological mother decides to fight to get her child back.

Flight of the Intruder - When carrier-based Intruder pilot, Jake Grafton’s co-pilot is killed whilst on a routine bombing mission, he finds himself questioning the purpose of the missions he is sent on. Grafton, feeling resentful towards the pointless death of his friend, starts to plot an illegal bombing raid on the anti-aircraft installation ‘Sam City’, in off limits Hanoi; a target he feels truly justifies risking lives.

13th October 2003:

The Core - Starring Hilary Swank and Aaron Eckhart, The Core is a disaster movie with a difference. When people with pacemakers suddenly die at exactly the same time, the government calls in scientific experts to explain the phenomenon. When the pigeons in Trafalgar Square start to attack the tourists, the world takes note. Only when a college professor, Dr Keyes, creates a theory about the phenomenon is the shocking truth about the planet discovered - Earth is ready to destroy itself. A team of scientists, a computer whiz and some of the air force’s finest are called in to save the planet, but it is a venture into the unknown where success is only a remote possibility.

20th October 2003:

Spongebob Halloween

Halloween brings out the "unusual" in the inhabitants of Bikini Bottom. Join SpongeBob, Patrick and the rest of the crew for some hauntingly hilarious undersea insanity! This Halloween Spongebob has the scariest costume he has ever had but still can’t manage to give anyone a fright! The five Bikini Bottom adventures also see Spongebob playing nursemaid to a sick Gary and finding a magical pencil from the surface which makes everything it draws with come to life! The feature packed DVD also includes 5 bonus episodes. The Secret Box, Band Geeks, Welcome to the Chum Bucket, My Pretty Seahorse and Idiot Box.

27th October 2003:

Deep Space Nine Season Five - In the fifth season of this absorbing series, enjoy the adventures, conflicts and emotions experienced by the inhabitants and crew of the remote mining station, Deep Space Nine. Season Five includes the fantastic episode Trials and Tribble-ations, in which Sisko and the crew travel back in time and come face to face with Captain Kirk and the crew of the original USS Enterprise as they try to stop a Klingon assassination plot, and Apocalypse Now, in which Sisko and team infiltrate Klingon headquarters in a bid to unmask a Changeling impostor. It also includes Business as Usual, which sees Quark enter into the lucrative field of arms dealing but ends up risking his own life in order to stop the murder of 28 million innocent lives and Call to Arm, in which Sisko is forced to leave DS9 after a fierce Dominion attack, but he leaves an unmistakable indicator that he'll be back. With over one hour of extra features including 2 "Trials and Tribble-ations" featurettes, an in-depth close up of crew member "Miles O'Brien, and a look at the Ferengi Culture. Retail is £84.99.
