3 Patrice Leconte films in March
Second Sight have announced the UK Region 2 DVD release of three films from one of France's most respected and versatile directors, Patrice Leconte. Arriving on 7th March 2005 priced at £19.99 each the trio of titles, The Hairdresser’s Husband, Tango and Le Parfum D’Yvonne,, show off his eclectic style, taking in dark comedy, eroticism and romance. Two of the three are appearing on DVD for the first time ever.
One of the best loved French films of recent times, The Hairdresser’s Husband is a masterpiece from Patrice Leconte. Originally released in 1990, it was nominated for 7 Cesars and a BAFTA. This bittersweet erotic comedy features a critically-acclaimed performance from Jean Rochefort (Ridicule).
DVD Extras include Patrice Leconte’s debut short film.
Tango is an outrageous dark comedy from the master of black humour Leconte. Released for the first time ever on DVD, it features an all star cast including Philippe Noiret (Cinema Paradiso), Thierry Lehrmitte (Le Diner De Cons), Richard Bohringer (The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover) and Miou-Miou (Entre Nouse).
Released for the first time on DVD Le Parfum D’Yvonne, is an intoxicating erotic masterpiece from Leconte. In this romantic French drama, an older man remembers a meaningful summer romance he had in 1958.
