The Pete Walker Collection in March - Updated Specs

Anchor Bay UK have announced the Region 2 DVD release of the Pete Walker Collection for 21st March 2005 priced at £29.99. This set celebrates the work of one of Britain's most revered genre writer-director-producers. The five-disc collection presents Walker's best and most famous thrillers and horror films – House of Whipcord (aka The Photographer's Model), Frightmare, House of Mortal Sin (aka The Confessional), The Comeback and Die Screaming Marianne – all packed with exclusive special features and beautifully packaged in a stunning coffin-shaped presentation box.

The Comeback stars Grammy Award winner Jack Jones as a singer who takes up residence in a remote country house to work on some new songs, where he finds himself haunted by the ghost of his murdered wife. Things go from bad to worse when his wife's killer turns up at the house, intent on continuing the killing spree. Starring alongside Jones are Pamela Stephenson (Superman III; Not The Nine O'Clock News), David Doyle (Bosley in TV's Charlie's Angels), Bill Owen (Last Of The Summer Wine) and Walker regular Sheila Keith (Clockwise; House Of The Long Shadows).

House of Mortal Sin stars Susan Penhaligon (The Uncanny; The Land That Time Forgot), Stephanie Beacham (TV's Bad Girls) and Sheila Keith in the macabre tale of a priest who records his parishioners' confessions and uses the tapes to blackmail his victims. Those unable or unwilling to meet his demands soon discover they must pay the ultimate price.

Sheila Keith plays the head warden at a bizarre correctional institute set up by a small group of people disillusioned with the British legal system in House of Whipcord. Taking the law into their own hands, they imprison and torture a procession of young girls they deem to be impure or corrupt.

A disturbing tale of cannibalism in suburbia, Frightmare also stars Sheila Keith, this time as Dorothy Yates, a mother with a taste for human flesh. After spending 18 years in an institution, Dorothy is released, apparently cured. But her bloodlust proves to be too much to resist and it appears it may be hereditary.

Die Screaming, Marianne stars Susan George (Straw Dogs) as the eponymous heroine who, following the sudden death of her mother, stands to inherit the family fortune, along with several documents that could incriminate her corrupt judge of a father. Now, her sister and her father both want their hands on Marianne's inheritance and they'll stop at nothing, even murder, to get it.
