The Hillside Strangler in March
Tartan Video have announced the UK Region 0 DVD release of C. Thomas Howell in The Hillside Strangler for 28th March 2005 priced at £15.99. One of the few "tag-teams" in serial killer history, the so-called "Hillside Strangler" was actually two men, Angelo Buono Jr. and Kenneth Bianchi, who left a trail of sexually-violated and murdered young women in their wake, and threw Southern California into a state of terror for two long years, as police searched vainly for leads and the co-dependent killers sought to refine their nefarious craft. Directed by Chuck (Ed Gein) Parello, and starring C. Thomas Howell (The Hitcher) and Nicholas Turturro, these boys deliver plenty of gore and blood with their pizzas.
Tartan’s journey along the roads of serial killers has previously brought us Ed Gein and Bundy. Now the focus is on another notorious true-life tale of cousins who terrorized Los Angeles between 1978 and 1979. Having brutalized views with Henry: Portrait of A Serial Killer 2 and Ed Gein, director Ed Gein delivers another unforgettable shocker.
Presented in anamorphic widescreen with DD5.1 & DTS 5.1 Surround audio, DVD extras include director’s commentary, cast interviews, deleted scenes nad DVD notes by Slasherama’s Jason Arnopp
