Columbia Tristar

have sent through the official press release announcing their October 2003 Region 2 DVD line-up. We have already covered some of these titles but here is the full rundown for you.

Cromwell

- Alec Guinness and Richard Harris star in this historical epic. Great battle scenes and cinematography plus an Oscar winning music score.

Trapped is guaranteed to keep viewers locked in a state of suspense for the entire movie.

Jo Hinkley, played by Kevin Bacon, thinks he has created the perfect crime where he kidnaps the children of rich parents and holds them for 24 hours. He keeps the mother under control, while an accomplice negotiates the ransom from the father. However, he soon finds out that his latest victims are more capable of defending themselves than he thought…

When she does finally manage to report the crime to the authorities, nobody believes her. Also featuring Alec Guinness.

Cowboy Bebop: The Movie - For those who are familiar with the global phenomenon of ‘Anime’ this is one of the most eagerly awaited films of the year. Cowboy Bebop is a feature length version of the hugely popular TV series of the same name, and sees Spike the Bounty Hunter and his crew battle against villains who blow up a tanker truck, releasing a deadly virus that kills hundreds. Facing their deadliest enemy yet, Spike and the crew race against time to track down the person behind the destruction and claim their bounty.

El Crimen Del Padre Amaro (The Crime of Father Amaro)

- is a critically acclaimed and controversial film starring international star Gael Garcia Bernal (Y Tu Mama Tambien, Amores Perros). It is available to rent on video and rent or buy on DVD from the 20th October, courtesy of Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment.

Set in rural Mexico, the film tells the story of a recently ordained young priest (Bernal), who battles with his faith when he falls in love with a local girl who becomes pregnant with his child.

El Crimen Del Padre Amaro is a beautifully acted movie and was nominated for Best Foreign Film at the 2002 Academy Awards.™ as well as a Golden Globe™ for Best Foreign Film.
