PS2 Delayed Again - Well, Sort Of
Not quite as bad as the headline makes it sound, but a delay in the pre-order date of the PlayStation 2 has been announced by Sony. As reported in an earlier story (read it here), Sony recently decided to launch the new machine as a pre-order only item in order to best fulfil demand and the date they set for this to kick off was August 14th.
As per normal in the games industry these days though, Sony have now decided that they'll move the date back some three weeks. This is apparently in order to refine the system that will take all of your details (plus a £25 deposit), stick them in a huge marketing type database and then send you crap forever more. Oh, and it has the convenient side-effect of sticking your name down to pay Sony £300 for this priviledge. Cynical, me? Never.
Anyway, moaning over, the point to this news story was that you will now have to wait until September 7th before you can pre-order your new shiny black PSX 2. Good eh?
