Buffy in Region 4 first?
There have been a number of reports on various bulleting boards and forums that Buffy the Vampire Slayer has been scheduled for release in Region 4 on 20 November.
I've been doing a little digging around, and although I haven't found the source of the rumours and I can't confirm if they're true or not, the details I've managed to scrape together seem to correlate with earlier rumours mentioned here.
Briefly, the rumoured Region 4 release will take the form of a three-disc box set containing all 12 episodes from Series 1. The discs will contain English, French and Dutch subtitles. Disc one will feature a commentary track by Joss Whedon over the first two episodes (Welcome to Hellmouth and The Harvest), an interview with Joss Whedon and David Boreanaz (Angel), DVD-ROM content including a screensaver and the script for the unaired pilot and a trailer. Disc two will feature the music video 'I Quit' by Hepburn along with a photo gallery. Finally, disc three will feature a selection of biographies running to around 50 pages.
Quite an interesting selection of material and I know for a fact that some of it (the commentary at least) is certain to be included on any Region 1/2 release. Whether or not this is a hoax is unknown at this time - although I think the November release date is a little optimistic going on the Region 1/2 plans.

UPDATE (17 August):
I've had a mail from Paul McCarthy with regards to the Region 4 release date plans. Apparently, he has spoken to Fox in R4 and they have confirmed a 29 November release date - this is almost straight from the horses mouth.
