Another Doctor Who title in the works

News has been posted over at the Doctor Who Restoration Team web site of the fifth Doctor Who DVD release. The Caves of Androzani is the last fifth Doctor story and sees the regeneration of Peter Davison into Colin Baker's sixth Doctor. The DVD release looks very promising indeed with an impressive selection of extra material being prepared. I think the pick of the bunch has to be a new commentary track recorded this week which will feature Peter Davison, Nicola Bryant and Graeme Harper. There will also be an isolated soundtrack along with a featurette which is being prepared using footage from a 75-minute isolated camera recording. Finally, there is also going to be a BBC trailer which is currently being remastered to broadcast quality. To top it all off, there is a strong possibility that the story itself will contain some previously unseen footage - this is being worked on and it is possible that the DVD will provide the facility to watch the story either with the footage in place or as originally broadcast. Things are looking good for this release due around April 2001. Further details on this DVD are on-line over at the excellent Doctor Who Restoration Team web site.
