More Doctor Who and Blackadder from the Beeb

BBC Worldwide have announced two titles for release in February - the latest Doctor Who adventure and the third incarnation of Blackadder.

Rowan Atkinson, Tony Robinson, Hugh Laurie and an array of familiar faces return for Blackadder 3 - due for DVD release on 5 February. The third series has been remastered for this DVD release and all six episodes will be included on the £19.99 disc.

More exciting though, Doctor Who: Remembrance of the Daleks looks like it could be the best Doctor Who DVD to date. There is an impressive array of special features including:

  • Commentary by Sylvester McCoy and Sophie Aldred
  • Deleted scenes, bloopers and outtakes
  • Production notes
  • Multi-angle scenes
  • Two TV Trailers
  • Photo gallery
  • Text commentary on subtitle track.

The story sees the return of the Doctor's arch enemies - the Daleks - who visit Earth in 1963 to recover some advanced Timelord technology left behind by the first Doctor. This adventure is the last to feature the Daleks. The picture has undergone a intensive resoration thanks to the hard work of the Doctor Who Restoration Team. The DVD will be released on 26 February retailing at £19.99.

Finally, anyone who has been disappointed with the Doctor Who covers provided by the Beeb will be interested to know that Chameleon Circuit have worked hard to produce their own versions - and very nice they are too. Well worth a check if you own any of the current Doctor Who discs.
