Paramount in March

Paramount have sent through a few announcements for 5 March - and there are a few titles to look forward to...

  • Rules of Engagement, 2.35:1, Anamorphic, DD5.1
Features: Theatrical trailer, behind-the-scenes, director's commentary

  • Airplane, Anamorphic, DD5.1
Features: Theatrical trailer, group commentary by Jerry Zucker, David Zucker, Jim Abrahams and Jon Davison

  • Airplane 2, Anamorphic, DD5.1

  • American Gigolo, Anamorphic, DD5.1
    Features: Theatrical trailer

  • Internal Affairs, Anamorphic, DD5.1

  • The Out Of Towners, Anamorphic, DD5.1
    Features: Theatrical trailer
Finally, on 19 March we have:
  • Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, DD5.1
    Features: Two theatrical trailers
Special Edition Features: As above + Star Trek: New Worlds sample game
All are pretty much as expected. However, I am a little concerned that Star Trek VI is not listed as anamorphic - the Region 1 release wasn't but to date all the other Region 2 Star Trek discs have been so this would be a bit of a setback.

All of the above discs will retail for £19.99.

I've just been e-mailed by Laurent Wiart with regards to the Region 2 release of Star Trek VI - the continental Europe release is just as I feared, non-Anamorphic and therefore it's a pretty certain bet that our disc will be pretty much identical. Even more worrying is Laurent's comment that both the Region 1 DVD and Laserdisc releases are more watchable than the 'ugly' Region 2 DVD.

Why, oh why did they feel that they didn't need to anamorphically enhance this disc. It has already been delayed in the UK, but instead of using the time to bring the presentation up to the standards of the other Region 2 Star Trek releases it appears they have done nothing.
