Buena Vista announcements
We have a few announcements from the Buena Vista camp this morning. First up is the first official confirmation of the UK release date for Pearl Harbor - this disc will be released in the UK on 3 December retailing at £24.99. Other than that, we don't have a lot more on this title at the moment. Going on the price it's likely to be a double-disc set, but there's been no news on whether we're going to be getting the Director's Cut at a later date. We'll keep an eye on this and post more as soon as we have it.
Next is the retail release of Chocolat on 26 November. Originally down for a feature-free rental release, this new retail announcement gives us details of what to expect from the full disc (although technically we're pretty much still in the dark!) The £19.99 disc will feature:
- Seven deleted scenes (The Comte Collects Rent / Are we going to move again? / Milking the cow / Cat food / Boule game / Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow / Armande's Letter)
- The Making-of Chocolat
- Production Design Featurette
- The Costume of Chocolat
- Commentary with Director Lasse Hallstrom and Producers, David Brown, Kit Colden and Leslie Holleran
Finally, we have the announcement of a rental release for Captain Corelli's Mandolin starring Nicholas Cage (with a very adventurous if totally unconvincing Italian accent) and Penelope Cruz. Based on the popular book, by Louis de Berniere, the film takes a few liberties with the original story and is ultimately a pretty unsatisfying experience to anyone who's read the novel. Seeing as this is a rental disc, there's little chance of any extras. The rental release date is 3 December.
