Ghost World and more from MGM
MGM have announced several new DVD releases for 2002 including the superb Ghost World that is currently showing in UK Cinemas and will be released onto R1 DVD for the 5th February. Featuring a 1.85:1 Anamorphic Widescreen transfer and English DD5.1 Audio the extra features include Deleted and Alternate scenes, a Making of Featurette, a Music Video, and Trailers. Retail is $26.95.
Also from MGM on the same day is the Teen Drama The Smokers which features both 1:85:1 Anamorphic Widescreen and 4:3 Transfers, DD2.0 Audio and a Trailer - retail is again $26.95 but it somehow seems much higher considering the feature set!
The 5th March 2002 sees a selection of Catalogue titles from MGM including Ang Lee's Eat Man Drink Woman which will feature a 1:85:1 Anamorphic Widescreen transfer, DD2.0 Mandarin Audio with English subtitles, an interview with Ang Lee and the Theatrical Trailer. Retail is $19.95, other titles released on the same day with the same retail price are A Tale Of Springtime, Electra and Mademoiselle - all of which feature Non-Anamorphic Widescreen Transfers and just the Theatrical Trailers as extras.
Moving on to the 19th March MGM will release another selection of Catalogue titles, all feature DD2.0 Audio and Theatrical Trailers. The following titles are in Anamorphic Widescreen - Bar Girls, Boxcar Bertha, De Sade (includes a Making of Featurette and Episode 1 of the Richard Matheson Storyteller series), Romeo Is Bleeding and The Locusts while the following titles are presented in Non-Anamorphic Widescreen - Angels And Insects and Impromptu. All retail at $19.95.
