R1 Announcements from the past week

Despite the usually quiet Xmas period there has been plenty of R1 announcements over the previous weeks so here is a round-up of the most popular titles (and some of the not-so-popular ones too)…in company order here we go….

Columbia Tristar

Maintaining the spate of recent Theatrical Releases receiving the DVD treatment is Riding in Cars with Boys which will debut on the 19th March 2002 with a $27.95 RRP and the following features...

Fox Home Video

Released on 5th March 2002 is the long awaited Cameron Crowe title, Say Anthing which will debut alongside Less than Zero, Taps and All the Right Moves. Each title will contain an Anamorphic Widescreen Transfer and the original Trailers while Say Anthing will also feature an Audio Commentary with Director Cameron Crowe and Actors John Cusack and Ione Skye, 10 Deleted Scenes and 13 Extended Scenes, and a Making of Featurette! Retail on each is just $19.95.

Released on 12th March 2002 the following will all retail at $29.95.

Donnie Darko - this recent US release currently has no UK Theatrical Release Date so it is currently safe to assume this R1 DVD will be available prior to any UK release.

And finally Fox have already announced a 7th May Release date for M*A*S*H: The Second Season.

MGM

On the 2nd April 2002 MGM will bow two all-new Special Edition re-issues that will also feature Limited Edition packaging which will be replaced with a more standard case design later in the year - all at the ultra low retail point of $24.95.

National Lampoons European Vacation features an Audio Commentary with stars Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo and Trailer & Cast Highlights. Joe Vs. The Volcano will feature the Original Behind-the-scenes featurette, Eric Burton's "Sixteen Tons" Music Video and the Theatrical Trailer while Barcelona will only feature a Theatrical Trailer. Finally Exit to Eden will feature a Featurette and the Original Trailer.
