Tiny and the Videologic DigiTheatre DTS fiasco
Many of you will be aware of the alleged mistake in pricing of the Videologic DigiTheatre DTS on the Tiny website. The company advertised and accepted orders for this DTS/Dolby Digital system at a price of £149 and later withdrew their offer claiming it to be a mistake and they were selling the standard DigiTheatre at this price.
However, some enterprising individuals were unhappy with this and decided to take the matter further. And now I'm able to report that at least one person will be getting the DigiTheatre DTS at the £149 price originally advertised.
A poster on the uk.media.dvd newsgroup decided to take the matter to the small claims court following advice from Trading Standards, and as a result, Tiny have settled out of court and agreed to supply the originally advertised hardware and reimburse court costs.
If you originally placed an order for the Videologic DigiTheatre DTS through Tiny for their advertised £149 price, the first thing you need to do is to contact your local Trading Standards branch and follow their advice on the matter.
