The BBC in April

Look out for the following DVDs from the BBC on April 8th 2002...

Absolutely Fabulous Series 4 will be a 2-disc set retailing at £19.99. Disc One contains all six episodes of the 4th series while Disc two contains the Pilot Episode 'Mirrorball'. Extra Features include interviews with Jennifer Saunders, Joanna Lumley and producer Jon Plowman, audio commentary by Jennifer Saunders and producer Jon Plowman, 12-minutes of out-takes, and a photo gallery. The episodes are presented in 16:9 format with DD2.0 Stereo sound and subtitles for the hard of hearing.

Walking with Beasts will be a 2-disc set retailing at £24.99. Disc One contains all six-episodes presented in Anamorphic widescreen with DD2.0 Stereo sound and English subtitles for the Hard of Hearing. Disc two contains two 50-minute documentaries, 'The Beasts Within' is a special on scientists search for man's link to apes, 'Triumph of the Beasts' is a special on the rise of the mammal. Crew interviews, a photo gallery and a set of graphical fact files on the main creatures featured round off the 2nd disc of extra features.

Doctor Who - The Ark in Space will be presented in its original 4:3 Picture format with Mono Sound and will retail for £19.99. Additional features on the DVD include a commentary by Tom Baker, actress Elisabeth Sladen (Sarah) and one of Doctor Who's most successful producers, Philip Hinchcliffe; a specially-recorded interview with the designer of The Ark in Space, Roger Murray-Leach; a news interview with Tom Baker while filming Doctor Who in Wookey Hole; a 3-D technical schematic of the Ark plus new and newly-remodelled special effects. Also included are an early unused version of the new Tom Baker title sequence, a brand-new model sequence from BBCi's TARDIS-cam feature, and a photo-gallery showing rare and previously unpublished photographs from the original recording.
